If you're a Debian Sarge user, you can access various things I'm working on by adding this line to your /etc/apt/sources.list:
deb http://packages.neuron1.com/ stable main
Currently you'll find two kernel packages of Linux 2.6.12, one for K7 (Athlon XP and above) the other for Pentium 4 and above. And there's the stock Sarge VLC packages, however they were compiled on my system against the 2.6.12 kernel and hence the DVB code therein will work and not cause a segfault as the usual Sarge VLC packages do.
8th October 2005: I've recently added packages for the Hauppauge PVR series of PCI MPEG cards. You'll find IVTV modules (both branches) for the stock Debian Sarge 2.6 kernel (2.6.8-2), along with matching versions of the IVTV utilities and firmware. Also, LIRC modules for the card.
